ALAN SLATER
Alan Slater is the Chief Executive Officer/Clerk of the Court and Jury Commissioner for the Superior Court of California, County of Orange, a unified trial court, consisting of 143 judicial officers and 1600 employees. Mr. Slater has primary responsibility for all of the administrative, non-judicial functions of this metropolitan court. Over his 30-year career in Court Management, Mr. Slater has served on a wide variety of state and national task forces and committees in the areas of judicial administration, court technology and criminal justice integration. He currently serves as an advisory member of the California Judicial Council and as Chair of the Judicial Council’s Court Executives Advisory Committee. Mr. Slater is a member and past Co-Chair of the Conference of State Court Administrators/ National Association for Court Management (COSCA/NACM) Joint Technology Committee and is a member of the Steering Committee of the Forum on the Advancement of Court Technology (FACT). Mr. Slater has served as faculty for numerous professional training programs, particularly for court technology programs with special emphasis on electronic filing, document imaging, and privacy and public access. Mr. Slater holds Master’s Degrees in Judicial Administration and Business Administration from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Rutger’s University.
