A short biographical statement - Tim McGrath.
Tim McGrath is the Assistant Director General (Courts & Tribunal Services) of the NSW Attorney General’s Department.
He has been a change manager, policy officer and court administrator with both practical and procedural experience in the Magistrate’s Court, District Court and Supreme Court jurisdictions and in the Crown Solicitor’s Office. Prior to his current appointment Tim was Registrar of the NSW Industrial Relations Commission.
Tim has also had extensive exposure to the north American court system when he was based at the Institute for Court Management in Denver Colorado. He travelled extensively throughout the United States and Toronto, Canada, as a member of a research team conducting analysis and investigation into judicial leadership and its impact on court management and caseload management initiatives, techniques and practices.
Since July 2002, Tim has taken on a key role as a member of the Attorney General’s Department’s executive management team. As his title would suggest, he leads and directs all Court and Tribunal services throughout NSW.
Tim is a graduate of the University of Technology, Sydney, and is admitted as a legal practitioner in NSW.
