Australian Calendar of Judicial Activities

 

Commonwealth Law Conference Abuja, Nigeria, 8-11 April 2010 

The theme of the conference is ‘The 21st Century Lawyer: Present Challenges & Future Skills’ and the two programme streams will focus on 'Human Rights & the rule of Law' and 'Corporate & Commercial Law' with an emphasis on issues of importance within the host country and wider region.

Third Justice Environments Conference - Rydges World Square, 389 Pitt Street, Sydney, 20-22 May 2010.

Keynote speakers include Kim Nielsen, the prize-winning architect responsible for the Frederiksberg courthouse in Denmark, law professor Neal Feigenson on visual aspects of courtroom procedures, and Damian Schofield on digital technologies in justice procedures. Highlights include an exhibition of recent court architecture and a trade display of new technologies relevant to courts. Conference themes include: court design and architecture; court safety and security; emerging technologies; sustainability; financing court buildings; and visual representations of justice.

Submissions are invited for activities and papers on these themes or any other issues about court and tribunal environments . The submission deadline is 1 April 2010 via the following link. www.uws.edu.au/jec3 .
